The United States Coast Guard Chief Petty Officers Association is unique among service organizations in that it was created by the Chiefs, of the Chiefs, and for the Chiefs of the United States Coast Guard.

About Us

Grand Haven Chapter CPOA

Received its charter on March 20, 2010.


The Grand Haven Chapter Chief Petty Officers Association, Grand Haven CPOA (GHCPOA) is a not for profit, war veterans designated 501(c)(19) and is comprised of active duty, reserve, retired and honorary Coast Guard Chief Petty Officers. Membership in the Chapter is also open to all sister service men and women having successfully held the rank of Chief Petty Officer (Navy) , Sergeant First Class (Army), Gunnery Sergeant (Marine Corps), or Master Sergeant (Air Force). We have 84 members on our roster and continue to grow annually.


During the past 14 Years


The GHCPOA has involved itself with several community service projects and initiatives within the Tri-Cities area.


We spearheaded a project to replace the aging 36ft MLB with a retired 41ft  UTB which we restored and maintain, it now stands as a monument that welcomes all visitors to Coast Guard City USA.


We collaborate with the U.S. Marine Corps during the annual Toys for Tots campaign.


We instituted Operation Turkey Time to provide assistance to junior crew members during Thanksgiving.


We adopted and maintain the USCGC Escanaba Memorial.


We Support Adopt a Highway.


We assist the Grand Haven American Legion post with their Burger Nights.


We established the QMCS Tom Rau Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Promote its unity and morale domestically and militarily through responsible leadership


Assist members and dependents in urgent need of assistance


Assist in recruiting for the Coast Guard


Support the aims and goals of the CPO Academy

Assemble for social amenities


Become involved in community affairs


Promote social programs for those in need


Keep informed of Coast Guard matters
